So much has happened since last we spoke! As you know, I spent the fall recovering from Hurricane Michael, cleaning out my little studio so I could get to work again. And of course, with your help, the "Wave" charm raised more than $2,000 to support recovery efforts in Franklin County!
But there is other exciting news. In January, I moved into a new space! Located at 236 Water Street, just a block over from my old store, it is better in every way. I have more room for my workshop, I have more space to show my jewelry and meet with clients, and I have a wonderful view of the Apalachicola River and the bay beyond.
It's amazing in more minor ways too. The air conditioning and heat work really well - which seems minor, until they don't. But perhaps my favorite feature? My new space did NOT flood during Hurricane Michael. I am very excited to be higher and drier, in addition to having a gorgeous new space.
I also have the most awesome neighbors - longtime local coffee shop Cafe Con Leche, cool art gallery The Gallery at High Cotton, and one of my personal favorite shops in the area, Betsy's Sunflower Kitchen Store and More.
To officially celebrate my new location, I'm having a Grand (Re)Opening on Thursday, May 16th, from 5-7 pm. It also happens to be the 1-year anniversary of opening my first space, so it's a double celebration! I'll have light appetizers, good drinks, fun music, and some really cool new designs to show you.
I've really been working to expand my line of engagement rings and statement pieces for other milestones. I've been staying busy making work for the cases and custom designs for my amazing clients. Here are a couple I've recently completed!
Oval bezel-set diamond engagement ring in rose gold. See it on my site.
Custom Salt and Pepper diamond shield ring with halo. See it on my site.
I have also been working on a collection of pieces using Dendritic Agate, which just has me fascinated. These amazing stones are all unique, and feature naturally-occurring designs formed by the inclusion of manganese and iron oxide in the stone. You can see why these are such a natural fit for the Forgotten Coast!
A recently-completed Dendritic Agate pendant with 18k gold bezel.
This collection is really recent, and isn't even on my website yet. For more pictures, be sure to follow me on Instagram @marilynbroganjewelry, or come into the shop and we can pick out your own unique stone!
And don't forget - Mother's Day is coming up. Let me know if I can help you with the perfect gift.
Hope to see you on the 16th, or the next time you're in town!
